AfL Comment Writer

Created by Ben Creasey

This spreadsheet (see the green X "comment marker" spreadsheet below, click the blue arrow) creates comments of up to three sentences. The comments available for choice are also entered by you, and can be added as they become available. Click the first sheet tab at the bottom of the excel document to enter the pupil names, then type the comments as they become necessary. All you then do is add the comment number to the pupil names. You can add "done well", "to improve" and "progress made" comments.

When finished, the second tab will contain the personalised printouts, which you will need to print 4 on a page in landscape orientation.

ADVANTAGES
  • You can create full AfL comments in very little time
  • The comments can be saved and used again for other classes
  • It is easy to add comments as you mark, you are not restricted to pre-decided comment banks
  • The data can be copied and pasted to your own excel spreadsheets to maintain detailed records of your comments (see third sheet tab).
DISADVANTAGES
  • You must be sitting at a PC when doing your marking
